Haymarket Media acquires German marketing publisher

LONDON - The German arm of Haymarket Media has acquired Heidelberg-based publisher Kress, which owns media, advertising and communications magazine The Kress Report, its website and directory.

Kress was founded in 1966 by Guenther Kress and has expanded over the past few years onto the and with directory Kress Kopfe.

All Kress employees associated with the brand will transfer to Haymarket Media GmbH after the sale, which is subject to meeting trust and legal requirements.

Publishing responsibility for The Kress Report will transfer from Dr Thomas Wengenroth, acting partner of Kress since 1996, to Gunnar Lindner, who is currently responsible for Haymarket's German title PR Report.

Wengenroth, who will remain in an advisory function, said: "We have been strategically focusing our efforts since the middle of 2007 to identify an organisation that would be able to further develop the Kress brand.

"Haymarket was always our preferred partner because the group is independent, international and entrepreneurial."

The Kress employees will remain in Heidelberg, including editor-in-chief Eckhard Muller.
