Hawthorn supplies lighting, sound, video, staging, drapes and graphic frame systems. It employs more than 100 full-time members of staff with an annual turnover of £9 million.
Anagram has a team of 15 staff and an annual turnover of £3 million. Battersea Evolution is among its long-standing clients. It will now dry hire equipment from its base in Cambridge, adding to Hawthorn’s existing offices in the Midlands and London.
Martin Hawthorn, managing director of Hawthorn, said: "This is an exciting opportunity for everyone within the group, allowing us all to open new doors, pool resources and develop existing relationships. There are many synergies between the two companies, bringing them together under one umbrella increases our knowledge, expertise and product range, with a larger team covering more of the UK."
Anagram will continue to trade under that name, and Anagram’s founding directors Pete Harding and Neil McGann will continue to run the company.
Harding said: "Becoming part of a greater group gives us access to new, cutting edge equipment whilst retaining our dynamic team."
