Having produced and managed artistes such as Bob Dylan and The Rolling Stones, Goldsmith is now preparing to launch The Zone Golf Charity Shootout, a faster-paced version of normal golf. The event will take place on Monday 27 May at Dukes Meadow in Chiswick.

As part of the event, European golf champions Ian Poulter, Justin Rose, Paul Lawrie and Paul McGinley will compete on the three par, nine-hole course to win £100,000 for their chosen charity. The losers will each be given £50,000 for the charity of their choice.

As well as being aired on Sky Sports, 3,500 people are expected to descend on the course to watch the golf stars in action.

Goldsmith said: "Everyone knows I’m a music man so the opportunity to turn my hand to sport and be involved in a game I love is wonderful. I never get tired of a new challenge and I believe Zone Golf will give the sporting world something to talk about."
