The Namuwongo Night event, held at the Novotel London West, saw industry figures bidding in a silent auction to win such prizes as joining Chris Evans on his BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show; tickets to see Top Gear being filmed; and Michelin star chef Billy Reid cooking in your own home.
TV presenter and DJ Chris Evans kicked off the evening, auctioning the first lot and interviewing charity supporters and fundraisers.
Guests were entertained by football entertainment act Streets United, sporting the Namuwongo Football team kit, as well as Canadian comedian Sean Collins and Rose Windross - the fist lady of Soul II Soul.
Trevor Foley, managing director of Tfconnect, organised the Namuwongo Night. He said: "This will literally change the lives of so many and we can't thank everyone enough for the generosity and support of all those who came, placed bids, donated prizes or gave us their hard-earned cash.
"A huge thank you to our event supporters and to all those who very generously donated prizes."
During the evening, Events for Namuwongo founder, Chris Hughes, made a compelling and entertaining presentation reviewing exactly what the partnership has achieved in Uganda already.
To date, more than 3km of drains have been cleared and thousands of tonnes of rubbish removed. De-silting teams keep up with the daily maintenance and another 1.2 tonnes of recycling has been sorted and sold in recent months.
With the fundraising on Namuwongo Night and the ongoing support of the industry, the work of developing healthcare, schooling and employment initiatives will continue.
The charity’s next fundraising initiative will be 'Wonga for Wongo' day on Wednesday 9 October, which is launching to coincide with Ugandan Independence Day.
