H&M’s online store will go live on 16 September and will sell clothing for men, women and children. It will also sell soft furnishings, which are currently unavailable in its 168 UK high-street stores.

Zara UK, the fashion chain owned by Spanish retailer Inditex, will launch its new store in the UK two weeks earlier, on 2 September. As well as the UK, Zara online will also go live in France, Spain, Italy and Portugal on the same day.

Zara, which has 65 stores in the UK, already sells homeware from its Zara Home site, but this is the first time the retailer will be selling fashion online.
