Gyro International dismisses sale talk as 'complete tosh'

LONDON - Integrated communications agency Gyro International has dismissed reports that it is subject to a buyout, after a month of speculation linking it to a 拢50m sale.

The Octopus Private Equity-owned agency has rubbished reports, which have appeared in the Mail on Sunday and The Express in the last month, that its owners had hired Long Acre Partners to assess a possible sale of the business.

Richard Glasson, chief operating officer at Gyro International, said: "I have seen the stories in the national press -- and they are complete tosh. We're not talking to anyone about selling Gyro, and we're not for sale, and definitely not at that price."

Glasson also disputed the valuation figures being touted for the agency, adding: "[The valuation] went up from £40m in the Mail on Sunday to £50m in The Express two weeks later. It looks like it's going to take a few weeks more before it hits the real value."

The reports speculated that major marketing services companies including WPP and Omnicom would be interested in Gyro.

The agency, which lists T-Mobile, London Business School and Oracle among its client list, won the brief to create a marketing campaign for the American Chemical Society last month.

It acquired Swedish brand communications company Dowell Stubbs in July.
