The Guardian and The Observer are back with the next instalment of the "own the weekend" campaign. The two spots, created by Bartle Bogle Hegarty, will run on The Guardian’s YouTube channel and show how disaster can strike when people try to "own" their weekend instead of leaving it to the newspapers. In one ad, called "paella", a woman poisons her friends after failing to consult the recipes in the Saturday Guardian. In the other, titled "megaglove", a man smashes his TV with an electronic glove that he bought online because he hasn’t read The Observer’s tech supplement. The work was created by Gary McCreadie, Wesley Hawes, Matt Fitch and Mark Lewis, and directed by Jeff Low through Biscuit Filmworks.
