
The phone will be available at Vodafone stores, as well as through the network provider's website.
The phone will offer a range of new Google innovations, including the latest Google Maps Navigation system, which offers sat-nav driving directions with voice output and Street View.
The Nexus One will also feature Google Mail, YouTube and access to the Android Market, Google's application centre that currently houses more than 40,000 apps.
The phone has been launched in a bid by Google to challenge rival Apple's dominance of the smartphone market.
Consumers will be able to pre-order the Nexus One from today, by signing up to either an 18- or 24-month Vodafone contract.
