LONDON - Google is working on the imminent launch of a music service which will feature content from major labels, according to reports.

The web is buzzing with speculation that the search giant is to enter the music sector with a new service for finding music content on the web following an initial report on the technology blog TechCrunch.

said the service will be available at least in the US but it is unclear whether it is a download or streaming service.

According to , the service will launch next week and offer enhanced music search with a streaming option.

Both reports claim major music labels will be supplying content for the service.

Wired.com reported that searching for an artist or song will apparently bring up a box with a streaming link randomly assigned to stream from either US-based music streaming services or .
