Industry contest will celebrate the craft and creativity of search marketing

Google, ±±¾©Èü³µpk10 and the IPA launch Search Superstars competition

The Search Superstars competition will seek out the most creative paid search practitioners across agencies and clients, and promote the search marketing sector.

The aim of the competition is to recognise and reward the skills that make great search marketers – not just using data and keywords, but building on a creative vision to drive engagement.

"The new breed of search marketers needs to understand every aspect of the communications strategy and interface directly with many elements of it," says Paul Mead, chairman of the IPA Search Group and the chief executive of VCCP Media. "Search is the glue that binds campaigns together – from the insights it delivers in planning to the response it drives at the bottom of the funnel. It’s a role that goes way beyond day-to-day optimisation of a search campaign."

Matt Bush, director of performance at Google, agreed and said: "Search is integral to all well-executed media campaigns – of course, I'm biased. It has evolved over 16 years like no other channel to deliver some of the most sophisticated marketing in the industry today."

The Search Superstars competition will recognise individuals who have delivered creative, innovative and effective campaigns; pursued unusual career journeys and developed their product and industry knowledge; and who have demonstrated a passion for search or a unique approach to the subject.

Nominations will be made online via the ±±¾©Èü³µpk10 website; a jury featuring search marketing experts from Google, the IPA and ±±¾©Èü³µpk10 will select a monthly Search Superstars to be featured in ±±¾©Èü³µpk10’s magazine.
