Gocompare.com "Gio returns" by Chris and Sian Wilkins

Gio Compario, Gocompare.com's maligned opera-singing mascot, has returned to TV advertising.

The new ad, which was created by Chris and Siân Wilkins, broke on ITV during an episode of Surprise Surprise on 26 July. The spot shows the tenor performing a slowed-down version of the Gocompare.com theme song with the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra and Choir to a packed theatre. According to a spokesman for Gocompare.com, the ad reached 8.7 million people on its debut. It is part of a multichannel campaign that includes outdoor and digital advertising.
