'Road to Raccoon Ciy' aims to take players into the world of Resident Evil - The Final Chapter, alongside the movie's star, Milla Jovovich.
The experience, launching in Hong Kong this week at the CineAsia exhibitors and distributors' convention, uses haptic technology to generate tactile sensations in a user's body via vibrations. For the experience, users wear a specially equipped vest and shoot at zombies on a projected screen. As the zombies attack, the vest generates physical and audio responses to simulate the attack, with Jovovich providing a voice-over.
Sony Pictures Entertainment teamed with video production company Sony PCL to come up with the experience for the video game movie.
Sony executive VP of marketing, Sal Ladestro said: "This is a wonderful example of when several of Sony’s divisions join forces to create one multi-faceted and dynamic project. We’re excited to support Resident Evil: The Final Chapter’with this fun, immersive activation."
Details of other locations on the tour will be announced later. CineAsia is taking place from 6-8 December at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhbition Centre in Hong Kong. Resident Evil - The Final Chapter will be released in December in Asia, North America in January and in the UK in February.
