Global appoints Thomson as marketing chief

LONDON - Nicola Thomson, former director of marketing for Global Radio's three brands, Heart, LBC and Galaxy, has been promoted to group director of marketing across the whole group, which now includes all of GCap's brands as well.

Her extended remit begins with immediate effect. David Andrews, director of marketing and events for Capital 95.8, will now report to her until the end of the year, when he will leave the company.

Andrews will be responsible for overseeing the Jingle Bell Ball, 95.8 Capital FM’s Christmas live music event, until his departure.

Thomson was poached by Global Radio in December 2007 from Bauer Media’s Magic 105.4, where she had been marketing director.

Since her appointment at Global, she has supervised two major advertising campaigns for Heart and LBC.
