Gaydar Radio gains more than 100,000 listeners

LONDON - Digital-only radio station Gaydar Radio has achieved its best listening figures to date, with its weekly reach up 51% year on year to 339,400 listeners.

The strongest year-on-year increase was among 18-34-year-old listeners and the time slot with the biggest reach was 7-10pm.

Roughly three-quarters of people listened mainly via the internet and the other quarter via DAB.

Gaydar's listening figures are separate from the recognised quarterly Rajar audience figures. However, they are researched by Rajar agency Ipsos Mori and the weekly reach figures are endorsed by Rajar.

Ipsos surveys the universe of UK-registered members of Gaydar's websites, Gaydar.co.uk and Gaydargirls.com.

The figures compare the period June 11 to July 4 this year, with the same period last year.

Robin Crowley, programme controller at Gaydar Radio, said the increase in reach was "an absolute reflection of the investment made over the last year".
