Bischoff is understood to be joining rival firm Crewsaders, according to Gallowglass Group managing director Nick Grecian.

Bischoff previously worked at Gallowglass as senior crew chief and moved into a client liaison role in 2009, before leaving in 2012 to work in business development for coffee company CafePod.

Grecian said that on a personal level, the company felt let down by the sudden departure, but added that "we have to take it as a huge compliment that our competitors value our staff so highly."

"Gallowglass people are headhunted by other companies with monotonous regularity", he said. "We have a strong team in place and Jarrod’s shoes have already been filled by Simon Jones, who is ideally placed to oversee Gallowglass Training in tandem with his existing role within Gallowglass Sustainability."

James Morgan, marketing director at Crewsaders, said Bischoff had not been issued with an employment contract but added that "high calibre event professionals would always be welcome additions to our team".
