Galaxy teams up with Rough Guides for travel podcasts

LONDON - Chrysalis Radio's dance station Galaxy has partnered with UK travel publisher Rough Guides to create tailored travel podcasts.

The podcasts will be available to the Galaxy network's audience of more than 2.6m listeners and website users with monthly destination-specific podcasts being available to download from each region's website, offering insider hints and tips.

Launching with San Francisco, subsequent podcasts will include Amsterdam, Tokyo, New York, Syndey and Ibiza.

The promotion, which started on Monday (May 7), will be supported by on-air activity and live reads will direct people to a Rough Guides-themed travel section on each of the Galaxy websites fro Manchester, Birmingham, Yorkshire and the North East.

Paul Coleman, Galaxy's brand marketing director believes Galaxy's largely 20-something audience is "a perfect fit for the Rough Guide brand".
