The magazine, which will be available in 230 of HMV's UK and Ireland stores from September 29, will debut with a print run of 150,000 copies, and is expected to be published every two to three months.
Future Plus said that HMV Games would comprise 40 pages of product reviews, new releases, games news and special money-off vouchers for HMV customers.
The music store giant said it chose a partnership with Future Publishing because of the company's portfolio of computer games titles, which include GamesMaster, Mac Format, Xbox Magazine and the official Nintendo Magazine.
Tim Ellis, HMV's head of games, said: "We've been saying for some time now that we're totally serious about games, and this new publication will underline the strength of our commitment and, I trust, will further bolster our specialist credentials."
Last week, Future Plus announced a deal with BT to create and supply editorial content for BT Vision, its next generation TV-via-broadband service.
The second edition of HMV Games is expected in early 2007.
