FT teams up with Motorola to provide news to mobiles

LONDON - The Financial Times has teamed up with Motorola to provide the mobile company's users with the latest business and financial news straight to their phones.

The new service enables readers to download up-to-the-minute news directly to their mobile phone, which runs in "ticker" style along the bottom of the phone screen. This service is specifically available to users of the Motorola V300, V525/V500, V600 and V80.

Nigel Pocklington, commercial director at , said: "Users of FT.com and readers of the newspaper are internationally minded and frequent travelers, requiring up-to-the minute news and analysis throughout the day. We are delighted that the Financial Times is partnering with Motorola to provide this service to our European audience."

Last week, the FT announced a similar deal with Sony Ericsson offering consumers up-to-date global business and financial news, comment and analysis from FT.com on their mobile phones.
