Freeserve to reward members with loyalty scheme

LONDON - Freeserve is encouraging member loyalty with a new rewards scheme, giving long-standing members gifts including a VIP golf weekend.

The scheme is called Freeserve Rewards and there will be three levels of redemption. The first provides core rewards via an online centre, where visitors can download vouchers or redeem discounts on brands including Black & Decker, Lastminute.com and Virgin Wines.

The second level sees monthly star rewards on offer in different categories such as travel and home. The third level begins in May and rewards members for how long they've been with Freeserve.

Victoria Robertshaw, Freeserve's managing director of customer operations and relations, said: "We want to give something back to our members to thank them for their loyalty but we realise that they want more from a rewards scheme than just points they have to collect and redeem, or free things they don't even want.

"With Freeserve Rewards we have set about creating something really different that offers real benefit and value and lets them get more out of their membership with a great range of lifestyle brands and experiences as rewards."

The scheme is to be promoted through the Freeserve customer newsletter, welcome emails, on the Freeserve homepage and online advertising on .

The ISP worked with marketing agency Mediator to partner with 16 brands for the launch scheme. Camilla Davenport, director of Mediator, said: "We are really pleased to have developed the Freeserve Rewards scheme. We have had such positive responses from key brands all wanting to be involved with this unique loyalty scheme for Freeserve members."

Dial-up ISPs such as Freeserve and BT Anytime have been forced to become more competitive as broadband internet access prices fall and subscriptions rise.
