Fox Kids Europe backs Sinbad DVD launch with site

LONDON - Fox Kids Europe is launching a pan-European multimedia campaign to support the release of DreamWorks' 'Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas' on DVD and video.

Fox Kids' websites and TV channels in the UK, Spain, Germany and the Netherlands will roll out the three-week campaign from November followed by additional launches in 2004.

The TV channels will broadcast a two-hour branded block of action and adventure programming sponsored by 'Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas' as part of an existing themed 'Heroes' weekend.

Viewers will be invited to vote for the programmes they wish to see included in this block via a dedicated 'Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas' microsite. The local-language microsites will be available via Fox Kids websites and will also include a Sinbad competition, Sinbad character profiles, a review of the film and a Sinbad "CRE8" section, which let children download pictures they can colour in.

In addition, Fox Kids TV channels will air 'Sinbad' TV commercial spots. Viewers in each territory will be encouraged to participate in the campaign through editorial and competitions published in Fox Kids magazines.

Fox Kids Europe created all elements of the bespoke campaign in-house in conjunction with MediaCom London.

Franco De Cesare, head of marketing at DeamWorks International, said: "Our promotional partnership with Fox Kids Europe will help us further quench kids' thirst for action and adventure in a fun, creative and interactive way."
