Flextech hires ITV's Humphrey for interactive division

LONDON - Flextech Television has appointed Edward Humphrey to join its interactive programming unit as an executive producer.

He joins Flextech Television, the content arm of Telewest Broadband, from ITV where he was interactive commissioning producer for the ITV network.

Humphrey will report to Simon Gunning, controller of interactive programming, and will work with the channel controllers, Jonathan Webb and Richard Woolfe, to implement Flextech's interactive strategy.

He will work on a range of interactive projects at Flextech including interactive applications for TV, web and mobile across all of the wholly owned channels, which include Living TV and Bravo.

"He will have a massive contribution in continuing to build on the success of our recent interactive programming stunts including voting, messaging and event enhancement across all of our wholly owned channels. Flextech Television's interactive stunts not only enhance the viewing experience for the audience but also drive viewing figures, which in turn increases advertising revenues," Gunning said.

As well as running a number of its own channels Flextech is the BBC's partner in UKTV, which produces 14 joint-venture channels such as UK Gold, UK Style, UK G2 and the latest addition UK Documentary.
