Planned by event marketing company, UBM Live, and London & Partners, London Technology Week will take place from 16 June 2014.

It aims to showcase London’s role as a global technology hub will feature events and talks targeting the digital community.

Adrian Newton, group director of UBM Live, said: "In the past few years London has really accelerated as a key location for tech companies and digital innovation.

"London Technology Week aims to build on this and create an annual opportunity for all those working within these dynamic industries to come together, facilitating an exciting forum that focuses on the key issues driving business and growth in this market."

The event, which is supported by the Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, will be based at Excel and around Tech City in east London.

"London has always been a city that embraces new technology and east London has a growing reputation as Europe’s home of technology start-ups" said Jeremy Rees, executive director, Excel.

"Excel London is delighted to have been able to facilitate the partnership between UBM Live and London & Partners to create London Technology Week and we are looking forward to hosting much of the content that will form part of the week."
