The winners in each of the categories of people development, customer service and innovation went to Joshua, Intelligent Print Solutions and Our Lasting Tribute respectively, after impressing the judges in these areas.
A premier award was also presented to the best overall campaign, which went to FDS Field Marketing for its field team project for United Biscuits.
Rita Courtney, best practice manager at the DMA said: "The aim of these awards is to promote the spread of best practice within the direct marketing industry and we are delighted with the response received from this, the first DMA Excellence Awards. The judges were extremely impressed with the quality of entries and the DMA look forward to building on the success of these awards in forthcoming campaigns."
The winners all received a specially commissioned glass trophy and five other entrants received certificates of merit for their outstanding projects. The awards were sponsored by Pharos International, 2Touch and Kellysearch and supported by Fit for the Future, the national best practice campaign led by the CBI and supported by the DTI.
