Fathers4Justice attempts Celebrity Big Brother break-in

LONDON - High-profile campaigning group Fathers4Justice attempted a mass break-in to the 'Celebrity Big Brother' house this morning resulting in 15 arrests. Updated

The police said that they arrested 13 men and two women who tried to break in to the celebrity household.

However, police said that although protestors got into the 'Celebrity Big Brother' compound, they failed to get inside the house itself where the nine celebrities are holed up.

The assault on the 'Big Brother' house began at 3am this morning when three of the 15 campaigners managed to scale the first wall into the 'Big Brother' house after other members set off a firework to distract security. The men were unable to climb over the second 25ft wall and were found by police using heat-seeking equipment.

The men were carrying a giant poster of David Blunkett's face, which they were going to unveil on the roof of the 'Big Brother' house -- highlighting the former home secretary's fight for legal access to the child he has claimed to have fathered during his affair with married Spectator publisher Kimberley Quinn.

Fathers4Justice said it was planning to distribute food and drink to the housemates, including extra rations of Diet Coke for John McCririck.

Matt O'Connor, Fathers4Justice founder, said: "One got as far as the inner wall but the security arrangements are really tight -- a damn sight tighter than at Buckingham Palace.

"We'd brought along a bottle of Diet Coke especially for John McCririck, who has been protesting at not getting his share."

He also revealed that the group was planning to infiltrate the house later today using "a form of air transport".

Fathers4Justice has staged spectacular headline-grabbing stunts in recent months. Dressed as superheroes, including Batman and Spider-Man, they have attacked the Prime Minister in the House of Commons with powder and scaled the walls of Buckingham Palace.

Each stunt has highlighted huge lapses in security at a time when fears of a major attack by Al Qaeda terrorists is running high.

The group is campaigning for a change in the law that will see fathers given equal access to children following marital break-ups.

Yesterday, the celebrities in the 'Celebrity Big Brother' house voted for the first time to evict one housemate, with Sylvester Stallone's mother Jackie and racing pundit John McCririck set to face the public vote.

However, in a break with the norm, viewers will be asked to vote for the celebrity they want to keep in the house rather than the one they want to evict.

McCririck said to the rest of the housemates: "I bet you're gutted it's me. If only racing was as easy as this, I'd make a fortune."

Bez received two nominations -- from McCririck and Stallone -- but still remains favourite to win.

Ladbrokes spokesman Warren Lush said: "Jackie is favourite to go but it could be close. We may have underestimated the power of the anti-McCririck brigade as it's hard to call with him -- there are people out there who either love him or hate him, there is no middle ground."

Happy Mondays dancer Bez is favourite to win the show with his odds cut to 7/4 from 2/1. Kenzie has pipped Jeremy Edwards to second place with odds of 2/1 from 5/2, while support for Edwards is deteriorating with odds of 4/1 from 3/1.
