Facebook to consult users in choosing terms of use

LONDON - Facebook has announced that it is to let users choose which terms of service will govern the site.

Users will have the opportunity to choose between a revised version of the terms released in February that includes user feedback, or the original terms released last September.

Facebook was caught up in a privacy storm earlier this year and in February reversed a change in its terms of use that would allow it to retain a copy of all users' actions and posts.

The vote is part of the social networking site's pledge to involve its users directly in the governance of the site.
