
It will also introduce new presenters and receive sponsorship from bookkeepers Stan James
SunTalk currently broadcasts a show presented by Jon Gaunt between 10am and 1pm every weekday, but from 7 June, it will be on air for eight hours between 10am and 7pm on weekdays, for five weeks.
Gaunt will continue in his usual slot, but will be followed by a show presented by author Martel Maxwell between 1pm and 4p, and by the editor of The Sun's showbiz section Bizarre, Gordon Smart, from 4pm to 5pm.
TV presenter and 'Celebrity Big Brother' star Terry Christian and former footballer and manager Ron Atkinson will finish the day with ‘The Stan James World Cup Show' between 5pm and 7pm.
The Stan James activity was booked direct and includes branded jingles, online branding with links to StanJames.com, special offers for SunTalk listeners, a 20-minute daily segment in the Jon Gaunt Show, and promotion in the newspaper where logos support the show.
The deal, for an undisclosed sum, marks the first time new content has had a major sponsor on SunTalk.
In addition to the five weeks of shows, there will be a World Cup Final Special on Sunday 11 July, and a full day of broadcasting on Monday 12 July.
The extended SunTalk schedule will be overseen by content director Jon Gaunt, executive producer Sam Gregory, and editor Chris Stevens.
The Sun in April 2009 and it has since won a for digital innovation.
Gregory was nominated in the Radio Academy Production Awards and Jon Gaunt is nominated in the (taking place this evening).
Stan James previously sponsored a week of broadcasts throughout the Cheltenham Festival.
