LONDON - The Express by Holiday Inn chain is using a bus to deliver free continental breakfasts to guests of rival chains that don't include breakfast in the room rate.

The bus will be travelling across the UK and visiting ‘no free breakfast' hotels Travelodge and Premier Inn hotels.

The Express by Holiday Inn breakfast team will give out 1,000 free breakfasts this week in London and Birmingham.  

The bus is staffed by IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group) sales representatives who will call at 15 key business travel agencies - including Amex, BSI and Carlson Wagonlit - to deliver the breakfast message. 

The initiative was developed to raise awareness of the importance of breakfast and highlight that Express by Holiday Inn hotels provide the meal to all their guests. Stocked with complimentary continental breakfasts and a dining area, the bus will fortify those who may have skipped the meal before heading for work.

IHG is the world's the world's largest hotel group by number of rooms. In the UK, it has 248 properties, including one InterContinental, one Hotel Indigo, 20 Crowne Plaza, 120 Holiday Inn, 105 Express by Holiday Inn and one Staybridge Suites hotels
