Experian's Dobie to join rival Equifax Europe for DM role

LONDON – Equifax has poached rival Experian sales and marketing director Kirk Dobie, to head up its direct marketing services division, in a newly created role.

Dobie began his marketing career with AC Nielsen before moving to Experian in 1989. He performed a number of sales and marketing roles in the micromarketing division at Experian, before becoming a director in 1995 and finally being promoted to sales and marketing director in 2000.

In his new role as head of marketing services at Equifax, Dobie will direct the sales team as well as being in charge of promoting Equifax's direct marketing products. He will report to group chief executive of Equifax Europe, Michael Shannon.

Shannon said: “This appointment is a reflection of our commitment to the marketing services sector. Kirk’s experience will play a key role in leading our strategies for 2004 and beyond, putting Equifax in a market leading position.”
