Lloyd's departure, apparently without a job lined up, leaves Experian needing to fill the role of managing director of its business information division.
The role had been Lloyd's since August last year, when he was promoted from director of B2B marketing and given a brief to make the most of the company's strengths in business information, commercial credit and B2B marketing.
His former role was taken by Nick Frazer, who was previously business information services director at Equifax.
Before his promotion, Lloyd oversaw the launch of the National Business Database and segmentation system Commercial Mosaic as well as the acquisition and integration of Yell Data in 2003.
He joined Experian in 2000 from Dun & Bradstreet, where he was director of database marketing.
A spokeswoman for Experian said: "We can confirm that Richard Lloyd has left the business. We would like to thank him for his contribution to the business and wish him every success in the future."
