Experian launches risk-based online B2B prospecting tool

LONDON - Experian has launched B2B Prospector, an online tool that allows businesses to source leads for campaigns according to geography, business type and credit risk.

Using Experian’s National Business Database (NBD) as its base, B2B Prospector enables businesses to count, build, download and buy prospect lists via the website www.b2bprospector.co.uk.

The NBD has more than 5.1m business records, sourced from both Yellow Pages and Thomson Directory.

Users can search by geography, location and business type, as well as by credit risk and behaviours. Advice on list building, segmentation and targeting is available via webchat from Experian staff.

Risk scoring allows users to remove high-risk business prospects, while Experian’s business classification system Mosaic Commercial means prospect lists can be compiled based on propensity to buy a particular product or service.

Nick Frazer, general manager business marketing for Experian’s Business Information division, said SMEs would benefit from the access to more advanced segmentation and targeting capabilites.

He added: Giving our clients access to quality data 24/7 means they can select fresh business leads when it suits them.
