After 12 years at the iconic event space, Bastini has decided it is time to move on and look for a fresh challenge in the event industry. He officially leaves the venue in July.

Bastini said: "I have been fortunate enough to work in operations, sales and marketing, so now feel fully equipped to move on in my career and perhaps even try a new direction."

"My time at the museum has been truly amazing, working on a number of spectacular events including London Fashion Week; the 100th anniversary party of Fifa; the Gold Ball of the British Olympic Association, the launch of the last Harry Potter book; the launch of the Honda F1 car; and concerts from Stevie Wonder, Tina Turner, Elton John, The Strokes, the late James Brown and Sting."

For the near future Bastini would like to be involved in the 2012 Games. "I would love to be involved in one way or another, working on a special project, or for a sports agency."
