This ultimate test of endurance, beginning on 29 June, will see them cycle to the heart of Barcelona, covering three countries and the Pyrenees Mountain Range in just 14 days.
Since devising the challenge in their local pub and planning their trip, Mower and Edwards have received full backing and support from Excel along with other corporate sponsors including The London Bike Show, Minty Cloud, P&O Ferries and Secure-Ops.
Kevin Murphy, CEO at Excel said: "Events for Namuwongo is a fantastic project that the events industry has come together to support, with the aim of raising £400,000 in the next 18 months. We are incredibly proud of Will and Tom choosing to support this worthwhile project on behalf of Excel London to raise money by taking part in this cycle challenge. The money they raise will go towards helping to deliver the change that is needed by this slum community including clean water for the whole community, free sanitation and hygienic toilets, transform health care and create a new school."
The pair are planning to document their trip via their blog, accessible from the website, where you can track their progress and send them messages of support.
William and Tom will be attending the main fundraising event ‘Namuwongo Night’, taking place on 22 May at the Brewery, where they will be sharing more details about their trip and receiving donations.
