Excel London owner Adnec is to build a 252-room hotel next to the exhibition centre in east London.
The hotel is being built in partnership with Starwood Hotels under the ‘Aloft' brand name.
The Aloft London Excel will also house open spaces to allow guests to mingle and a 24-hour food and beverage area,

The Aloft London ExceL will provide today's forward-thinking travellers with a space that is open to design and open to possibilities, and the arrival of this hip, new hotel concept will offer our customers a unique guest experience," said Excel London CEO Kevin Muprhy.
"Opening at the end of 2011, in time for the 2012 Olympics and our ever expanding calendar, the Aloft will add a further 252 bedrooms to our onsite offer."
