
It is the first time the event will be held in London and the show is so big it is set to take over the entirity of Excel.
More than 1,000 young people from 54 countries and regions will compete for medals in 46 skills, ranging from aircraft maintenance and electronics to floristry and cabinet making to become the best of the best in their chosen field.
In addition to the competitors more than 150,000 visitors are expected to attend to not only watch the competition, but to also to try their hands at a range of skills themselves.
Excel London sales director Jeremy Rees said: "WorldSkills London 2011 will be the largest event Excel London has ever held. The competition, spectator and Have a Go areas will take over every available square metre of the venue. We are delighted that the WorldSkills London 2011 organising committee chose ExceL London to host this magnificent competition, the first time that London has ever hosted the event in the 61 year history of WorldSkills."
WorldSkills London 2011 executive director Aidan Jones said "We are delighted to be able to bring WorldSkills to London for the first time."
