The new agency is based in Chipping Sodbury, near Bristol in the South West, and will announce further details of clients and staff in the New Year.
Stevens left Dutton Merrified at the end of July, where he worked on clients including Espresso Essentials, and has not been replaced.
According to Stevens, after talking with clients he found they wanted something different from the market: suits, no pretence and no bullet-pointed rhetoric.
"The tendency is for agencies to become complacent with their clients. Producing work to the formula that was well received last time. If our clients want a formula they can go and see a scientist," said Stevens.
On choosing a name for the agency, Stevens said it came from the people who will be working there.
"Each member of our team is a Firebrand by their nature, with a well-earned reputation for plain-talking and uncompromising creativity. The very best creative people I have worked with over the years were available just at the perfect time to get involved.
"In particular Canadian creative Steph Girard, whose portfolio boasts such names as Ferrari and Prada. There’s no hierarchy. We don’t bother with ego-promoting titles. The idea is everything, " he said.
