Ex Asda marketing chief Chris McDonough resurfaces at Homebase

Homesbase has appointed Chris McDonough, who will join the leadership team, as marketing director. He replaces incumbent Jo Kenrick.

McDonough, who has experience in FMCG and retail, joins in December and r, who is understood to be moving to pursue non-executive roles. 

He was formerly UK marketing director for Asda, of the marketing team in January. 

At Asda he was responsible for marketing of retail, home shopping, George and financial services. Prior to that he was UK Managing Director for brands with , and UK marketing and R&D director for dairy giant Muller, where he also had overall responsibility for the Irish business. 

McDonough started his career at Mars, where he progressed through various commercial and marketing roles to become German Pet Care commercial director.

"I am delighted that Chris is joining the team and look forward to welcoming him to the business," said managing director Echo Lu.

"With his functional expertise, diverse experiences and collaborative style, he will be a great asset as we go through the next stage in our journey to be a more customer focused brand.
