Run by Event and ESP Recruitment the Apprentice-style competition is designed to bring the next generation of talent into the event industry.

The competition will see contestants take part in a number of challenges to scoop the prize of the role of project coordinator at George P Johnson.

The winning candidate will start in the new business department supporting sales and marketing, before moving into client services and working with clients such Motorola and Cisco.

Last year's winners, Peter Hunt and Abi Cozens, won jobs at George P Johnson and Tarsus respectively after impressing a panel of judges over the three days of International Confex.

Those selected to take part in the competition will be split into groups and given a brief to create an event. They will then be asked to come to London from 19-21 March during International Confex at Excel London to present their ideas and take part in a number of challenging event management tasks - created by teambuilding firm Bluehat - which will be marked by a team of industry experts over the entire three days.
