I have worked here since day one, 5 June 2008, the day inVNT was founded.
I was attracted to this particular role because I love how great storytelling can connect with audiences, build believers and form tribes. While we may not move the world like a blockbuster film, hit record or best selling novel, with the right idea we are the catalysts of change for the titans of business and industry. I would argue that we change the people that change the world and that is something I am very proud of.
Not many people know that I suffer from acrophobia, which I get to experience every time I get on a plane, over 100 times a year.
My worst experience at an event was when Whitney Houston walked off stage in the middle of her third song, not to return.
If there’s one thing I’ve learnt it’s Martinis are the birth and death of all great ideas.
The best event I’ve been involved in was the global launch of Gardasil, the first vaccine to prevent cervical cancer and HPV.
If I could do it all over again I would rethink that tattoo.
The one thing I can’t stand is laziness.
Outside of work I spend my time learning to play the piano, winning (and losing) in scrabble and riding my Cervelo S5.
If money were no object I would eradicate cancer.
The one thing I can’t do my job without is Kristina McCoobery, my business and life partner, who is my inspiration and motivation for everything I do.
If I could switch places with anyone else in the industry it would be one of our interns so I could do it all over again with what I know now.
If I ruled the event industry I would change absolutely nothing. Collectively we are the most creative, passionate, hardworking people I know and I am humbled and proud to be a part of such an incredible industry.
