I got into the event industry because I love organising. I have always been the social organiser in my group of family and friends.

I have worked here since March 2008.

I was attracted to this particular role because whilst I was working as a PA, I was organising an event for my then boss. The head of events asked me if I would consider doing a secondment in the events team for six months. They then offered me a permanent role a week in and I’ve been here ever since. The firm takes client entertaining, corporate hospitality and events really seriously and I get to work across a whole range of events from the very bespoke one-off showstoppers, to complex multi-site conferences. I love the challenge of always coming up with something new, fresh and exciting, whilst continuing to deliver an excellent quality event, which the firm is known for.

Not many people know that I studied criminology and justice at university and that I used to be an international flight attendant for Emirates.

My worst experience at an event was hiring in a group of actors to perform Romeo and Juliette for an event. They performed an act first as they were supposed to, and then the same act in the style of Eastenders. I won’t say anymore!

If there’s one thing I’ve learnt it's If you think of the worst possible thing that can happen at an event and it does happen, it's not the end of the world. As long as you, your staff and guests are physically okay. Just pour more champagne.

The best event I’ve been involved was an event we held called Zoofari. We had a whole range of live animals, from pythons to tarantulas in the office and for a law firm, it was quite the event. We had amazing feedback for everything from the meerkat cocktails to the zebra-striped canapés. I still get comments on it which is now making it hard to do this year’s event for the same group even better.

If I could do it all over again I would have invented Twitter.

The one thing I can’t stand is people saying "I can’t". I am a strong believer in "I can do anything".

Outside of work I spend my time planning my own wedding and dreaming up the next big thing in social media.

If money were no object I would spend my life split 30% in New York, 30% in Australia, and the rest in the UK.

The one thing I can’t do my job without is my fabulous team.

If I could switch places with anyone else in the industry it would be with anyone at Quintessentially Events.

If I ruled the event industry I would make sure that if you RSVPd you actually turned up.
