I got into the events industry because I was desperate for cash. I trained as an actress and joined Lola as part of their hospitality team. I came into help out one Christmas and have literally never left.
I have worked here since early 2008.
I was attracted to this particular role because of the amazing people I work with and the challenge of delivering on every event.
Not many people know that I have climbed to Annapurna Base Camp. Nature at its best. And I fell off an elephant.
My worst experience at an event was discovering someone had been incredibly sick all over a table and bundled it up in a tablecloth.
If there’s one thing I’ve learnt it’s have a great team with you every step of the way and let them know it.
The best event I’ve been involved in was either the private party for Madonna with 50 A-List celebrities and Israel’s top DJ playing in a private apartment, or the Lord Mayor’s Dinner in Smithfield’s Market, such splendour in a surprising venue.
If I could do it all over again I would sleep more.
The one thing I can’t stand is pre-judgements.
Outside of work I spend my time chasing the acting dream, hitting the dance floor and trying my best to haggle in vintage markets.
If money were no object I would disappear around South America, Central and Eastern Europe and then Russia for a year, or two.
The one thing I can’t do my job without is practically speaking: the internet. Philosophically speaking: the people.
If I could switch places with anyone else in the industry it would be Mike Kershaw and be top dog in the events world – just to taste the power.
If I ruled the event industry I would raise staff wages and join in the party.
