I got into the events industry because I love organising and working in events was the perfect fit for me to use both my creativity along with my obsession with planning every tiny detail.

I have worked here since April 2012.

I was attracted to this particular role because Tudor Barn Eltham is stunning and there is so much untapped potential within the venue for corporate events and so I had a complete blank canvas to work with. A challenge in every way.

Not many people know that I also sing in, and run a very successful function band named Seduce Bands.

My worst experience at an event was spraying fake snow onto 10 huge hanging mirrors for a ski chalet-themed event, only to find at the end of the night getting the snow off involved scrubbing so hard and for so long that we didn’t finish until 3am.

If there’s one thing I’ve learnt it’s to always plan the get in so that you’re not ending up rushing.

The best event I’ve been involved in was turning a bland hotel function room into a stunning Indian tent complete with full theming and entertainment. A true wow factor event.

If I could do it all over again I would earn more money.

The one thing I can’t stand is when clients expect miracles but don’t even have the budget for the basic.

Outside of work I spend my time looking after my baby.

If money were no object I would use a lot of draping as it can transform a room.

The one thing I can’t do my job without is reliable suppliers.

If I could switch places with anyone else in the industry it would be whoever is organising Olympic entertainment and has decided not to pay the musicians.

If I ruled the event industry I would ban venues opening for supplier tender once every three years. It’s just not fair practice and means the same companies get used for long periods of time which creates stagnation in creativity.
