I got into the event industry because of the diversity of the role. I love the variety of challenges I face and the interesting characters you get to meet.

I have worked here since December 2011.

I was attracted to this particular role because it specialises in the party sector of the industry, something I am very good at organising.

Not many people know that I don’t like clowns which can be tricky when I am organising a family fun day for a company.

My worst experience at an event was during a Christmas party in 2011. An act had a few too many sherries prior to the event, luckily I have a long list of acts I have worked with before that were more than happy to jump in at short notice, needless to say the original act has been crossed out of my black book.

If there’s one thing I’ve learnt it’s to expect the unexpected. Always be prepared for anything that might happen. It’s so important to build good relationships within the industry so that you can trust other people to deliver.

The best event I’ve been involved in was a birthday party I organised for someone very special to me. May I say it was possibly the best night of my life and something I will always remember.

If I could do it all over again I would not change anything as any negative experiences have helped me develop into the organiser I am today.

The one thing I can’t stand is people who don’t put 100% in to what they do, I find it very frustrating.

Outside of work I spend my time cycling and playing in a marching jazz band.

If money were no object I would have travelled the world and attended parties in every country. I would have also made sure I was fluent in lots of languages.

The one thing I can’t do my job without is a good team around me and chocolate.

If I ruled the event industry I would make it the law for every company to hold a least one party every year for their employees as a thank you for all of their hard work.
