Infamous Irish duo Jedward sped along the Thames on Monday morning (20 July) in a stunt to promote the new film Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No!

John and Edward appeared to be chased along the river in central London by a shiver of sharks. They took to the helm of their speedboat, screaming and shouting as they warned passers-by of the peril they were in.

The pair passed under Tower Bridge, which was raised to let the chaotic scene through. Created by production studio Wild Creations, the savage animal attack featured a tiger shark, hammerhead and great white.

Agency Alfred looked after the event management and PR of the stunt.

Jedward stars in the third instalment of the Sharknado franchise, and also wrote and recorded the Syfy movie’s theme song. The stunt was designed to raise awareness of the new release before it premieres on Thursday (23 July).

‘Jednado’ is one of many stunts to have taken place on the murky river in the past year. Read about Event's favourites here:
