Experiential marketing agency Experience 12 recently teamed up with 3D Print City to develop a concept that will allow brands to print individual 3D scans of faces onto character bodies. The agency launched it at an event in March to celebrate the 15th anniversary of one of the world's biggest online games, Runescape, and it proved such a success that Experience 12 is now looking to roll it out for use with other clients.

Technology giant Samsung is looking to patent plans for an internet-connected contact lens. Much like Google's smart glasses, users of the product will be able to search the web and connect to their smartphone in the blink of an eye, literally. According to Samsung's 29-page document, filed in South Korea, the lens will even allow users to take photos using a tiny built-in camera.

Twitter has secured the rights to live stream NFL football games next season. Viewers around the world will be able to watch ten Thursday night games via Twitter's video feed without signing in. The social network, which sealed the deal after a lengthy tender process, is seeking to grow its global user base with more live events content. In turn, the NFL is looking to expand its audience beyond TV.

PlayStation has announced that its virtual reality headset, PlayStation VR, will be released in October. Priced at £349, the product will be compatible with Sony's PlayStation 4 and its handheld Move batons, which act as a console. Six of PlayStation's VR titles were tested out by fans at London's EGX Rezzed event in April.
