Winner: Hot Pickle

In 2009 a temporary Marmite shop popped its footprint with the launch of an Italian up on London’s Regent Street and as the crowds started rolling in, the success inspired the launch of Hot Pickle. This young, independent agency has had a storming 12 months, taking Magnum to Regent Street and Covent Garden, bagging the coveted global pop-up of the year at MAPIC, building a 13-metre-long dinosaur out of plants for Flora and creating the Aisle of Wonder, a magical pick-and-mix cereal experience for Nestle.

New client wins included Iceland, Persil, Cif and Hellmann's plus the agency expanded office to run a retail experience in support of the Coca-Cola Pavilion at the Milan Expo.

Working with several global brands led to an impressive 55% rise in turnover year-on-year, while 2015 also saw the development of an insights team and a design and production department. Add to this the 80% employee retention rate, a commitment to personal development and creative stimulus programmes for its teams and in a competitive field – separated by just a few percentage points – Hot Pickle has bagged this year's coveted Agency of the Year crown.

Highly commended: Slice
