The event is also being held in partnership with Hope Not Hate's Lewisham More in Common group, an initiative that aims to galvanise local community cohesion. Taking place at Wunderlust in Lewisham today (20 October) from 7pm, One Sweet Social will feature music from Mercury prize-winner Speech Debelle and actor and musician Josh Whitehouse, alongside DJ sets from South London’s Twinkat Soul, Rude Not To and Ross Allen.

Free Fairtrade ice cream will be available, whipped into never-tasted-before combinations. In between scoops and tracks, guests can speak to a host of community groups, about inclusion and diversity.

Wunderlust’s iconic red bus will also be available, inviting guests who want to find out more about how to get involved with their local group to step onboard.

The event, created by agency Hot Pickle in partnership with the Ben & Jerry’s team, is the latest instalment in Ben & Jerry’s One Sweet World campaign, launched to bring people together and create a positive outlook within communities at a time of increasing division. Proceeds from tickets will support Hope Not Hate’s charitable work.

Ed Shepherd, Ben & Jerry’s social mission manager, said: "In the face of the increasing division we have seen in society in 2016, it’s fantastic to see how grass roots groups are working to celebrate what unites us all: hope, compassion and understanding. This event is all about creating a more positive vision of the future, and sharing in our belief that when communities come together great things happen."

Nick Lowles, chief executive of Hope Not Hate charity added: "An inclusive and welcoming society starts with a belief that we all deserve respect, whatever our backgrounds. It is built by each of us doing our bit to drive a more positive narrative within our communities. We’ve had too much focus on division; now is the time to come together. That’s why we’re encouraging people across the country to focus on the things that unite our communities, through our More In Common campaign and supporting the excellent One Sweet World initiative."

Ben & Jerry's devised to support the launch of its 'Wich Family' product range.
