LONDON - Online ad sales house Wootmedia is to handle advertising for video gaming network Eurogamer, with a remit to bring non-gaming advertisers to its network of sites.

Eurogamer hires sales house Wootmedia

Eurogamer's network includes Eurogamer TV, a destination for gaming videos, Eurogamers, the social network for gamers and games blog videogaming247.com.

The Brighton-based games company was founded eight years ago and the site now attracts more than two million unique users per month. The site's non-gaming advertising sales were previously handled by Emap.

Wootmedia director Austen Kay said: "We'll work to bring complementary advertisers on board - brands that aren't focused around gaming but have a strong affinity with the Eurogamer brand itself. There are opportunities for real creative ideas, as opposed to simple banner ads."

In recent months, Woot has picked up sales contracts for clients such as the clubbing site DontStayIn.com, in addition to winning the contracts to sell ads on ethical magazine Don't Panic, and youth culture title Supersweet.
