Stent was formerly digital publisher for Bauer Media's London Lifestyle titles including Empire, Heat, Closer, Grazia and FHM.

In her new role she will work closely with ESI's advertising and digital commercial teams to drive incremental digital revenue growth across ESI titles. She will report to Zach Leonard, ESI Media’s digital managing director.

Balch spent eight years at Dennis Publishing before moving to the specialist mobile agency Somo, and was most recently the advertising director for Imagine Publishing.

Reporting into Graeme Finneberg, digital commercial director, he will be responsible for driving advertising revenues across ESI Media's portfolio of smartphone and tablet apps and mobile websites.

Leonard said: "The record audience growth for independent.co.uk, standard.co.uk, i100.co.uk and their apps and mobile range, brings greater opportunity to our advertisers, partners and affiliates.

"Caroline and Matt bring vertical consumer category and platform expertise to develop high-yielding marketing and cross-media solutions for our clients and brands."
