An Epson spokeswoman confirmed that the company is holding ‘exploratory meetings' with agencies as a wider review of its European agency arrangements. The pitch process is being handled internally.

DDB London, which has held the account for five years, has declined to repitch for the business. The agency won the account in 2004 following a pitch against incumbent Leo Burnett.

Earlier this year, Deborah Meaden, the star of BBC TV series Dragons' Den, fronted an Epson-branded website called ‘Experts for Better Business' to help the printer giant engage the small business community.

In December 2008, Epson appointed Twentysix London to its digital advertising account.
