A spokesman confirmed that the account had moved without a pitch process.

According to Nielsen Media Research, the bulk of E.ON's media spend is spent supporting the Powergen brand. Powergen is title sponsor of ITV's national weather bulletins. E.ON is the sponsor of the FA Cup.

Initiative, which handles media for E.ON, is understood to be unaffected by the review.

TBWA\London declined to comment on the appointment.
